Anamnesis
From the void, desires are being born
Each breath that one takes, another is taking form
But in the space between all thoughts, on the crest of every wave
A quiet voice is speaking out amidst the chaos and the pain
And if you notice it sometime, it does not judge, it does not blame
Your regrets and your desires, to it they seem just the same
But in the space between all thoughts, on the crest of every wave
A quiet voice is speaking out amidst the chaos and the pain
And it’s asking you a question: are you the one I’m looking for?
If you’re not I will stop asking, and I will trouble you no more
A simple willingness to listen, and a little time to kill
are the only requirements you might need to fulfill
If you think you might be willing, if you could maybe spare the time
To have a little conversation with the voice of the divine
But I know you are so busy, and I see your heart it isn’t mine
So I guess I’ll go and ask another, if they’d like to see me shine
I might stop back to see you, on the flip side of a rhyme
But chances are we will not meet again until the moment that you’re dying
Coincidence Becoming Synchronicity
The whole thing can be forgotten
as swiftly as a wave
that cascades back down the sandy shore
removing the folly of the castles we’ve made
We have learned of this world only to hold it
as if we possess it, as if it were our own
To keep it all in our memory’s hoard
And to doubt all other worlds set before us
And thus fated, set before us all
Our life’s path, our particular thrall
The spirit of “luck” deciding it all
The writing upon the proverbial wall
Fate finally becomes destiny
when we make the crucial choice:
To consciously craft what we believe
Coincidence only becomes synchronicity
when we are able to deny the reality
of the forms that we perceive
